This next year there are going to be a lot of changes in my life, well mainly just one big one, but it will change so much around me. I'm not sure with having a newborn how much of the year I will remember, so I have opted out of making resolutions, but here are some things I want to either accomplish or work on.

Sometimes my days are just checking things off my list of things that need to be done. I have been blessed with an amazing family and just moved to a new neighborhood and I want to purpose in my heart to serve those around me.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.   Matthew 5:14-16

a few of my blessings!

We recently just purchased our first home and were blessed with a space that we can accomodate more than just our family. We want to be able to have friends over more, and strangers, and people that live around us.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.  Romas 12:9-13

A project I started and finished just enough for the holidays. Now with holiday decorations coming down this is a project that probably should be finished. Oh and I am hoping that "nesting" will happen soon so I can work on my boys room and the nursery!

It is so much easier for me to have fun once my list of things are done... that's probably not the best way to live, right? No, it's not! I have the opportunity to help serve in the high school group at my church and I love the way they remind how fun can be had in most situations.

This has been something that the Lord has worked on in my heart for the past year and a half. I have grown so much in this, but I pray to always continue growing in this. God created a unique person in all of us and it is so much fun getting to learn who that person is.

A Challenge

I am probably the least competitive person around. I don't even really play board games, because I will just let the other people win. But I am always up for a challenge!

I saw this challenge and thought I would try it since just about everything I have right now is unflattering.

I chose this white t-shirt that normally fits close to a boyfriend tee, but at the moment is tight and shows a little belly. I layered it with a red striped tank and a scarf. Pretty simple, but it gave me something to wear for the day.

I love those little flower earrings

Thanks for the challenge, Amy!

My five year old was my photographer, I'm pretty impressed!

So today was a day where nothing was so terrible, but nothing seemed to go just right either. It's days like today that I am so grateful to be living for something greater than myself. Taking every stress and concern and being able to surrender it all to a God that loves me and delights in me is such a great gift. There is nothing that has changed in my circumstances, but the burdens are not mine to carry.

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.
Psalm 55:12

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 11:29

Tonight I rest in these truths and am so encouraged and filled by them!

26 Weeks

It does not seem possible that in just a few months this little boy growing inside of me will be in my arms! I can't even imagine how chaotic things may get with 4 boys, but Matthew 6:34 says, "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." So I am just trying to live that out and enjoy being where I am right now, so that I can learn the lessons that are in front of me to help prepare me for the future.

Part of this is accepting the "changes" that come with pregnancy. You would think with this being my fourth time around I would be used to it. I am not one that naturally feels beautiful while pregnant, but I am learning to embrace it. So this is the first and may be the last of any pictures of just me. While I don't avoid the camera while pregnant, I don't long to be in front of it either. So here it goes...

Surprisingly my boys didn't wake up until 7:30, that itself is a Christmas miracle! We travel to visit family every other year, but this was a year for us to be home. We had a relaxing day and got to just enjoy being a family. We were beyond blessed to have presents to open and yummy food to enjoy. Here are a few pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas.

Getting Started

Well like so many others I am starting this crazy idea of blogging. There are so many thoughts and ideas of things I would like to share to give the impression of a "perfect life" but I am real, and so are my experiences. Some things work out in my favor and some things don't go according to my plan. I love the Lord and desire for this life to reflect the love of Christ. I am continually learning how to do this. I am loving the life that I have been blessed to live. My husband and I have been married since 2003 and have the privilege to be the parents of 3 boys and are expecting another little boy next year. Our journey together has been full of surprises, and we are enjoying each experience as we always seem to learn so much from each one. I look forward to growing and stepping out of my box through this blogging experience!
