It's still very much a work in progress, but I am linking up with Kelly's Korner and giving a house tour.Last week was my living room, this week my kitchen.

When we first moved in the appliances were original to the house, as shown here, (if you look close you can see the change of wall color and the painted base boards). I was so super excited when my husband said it was time to get new appliances!

That has been the only major update to our kitchen. I have painted the walls, but my next step is refinishing the cabinets. I may have to wait a few months though considering my baby is only 2 months old, but who knows I may get crazy.

made the roman shade, and I need to clean my dishwasher

We have a little eat in area

I put this magnet board not in full sight of everything, I don't like seeing clutter.

We have lived in our home for about 7 months now and have made it our own in so many ways. I am looking forward to continuing projects and seeing changes!

Any opinions on what color to refinish the cabinets? I was thinking either white or dark gray?

Bridal Shower

I had the privilege of having a friends bridal shower at my home this past weekend. I met this girl when she was in high school and I was her small group leader, years have past and it has been so much fun to see her grow up and soon she will be married!

It was so much fun putting a few girly decorations up as I will not have an opportunity to throw a pretty party for my boys.

The bride and her fiance met and dated back in middle school, so for a fun touch she wanted scrabble letters as part of the decorations.

I made a chalkboard frame and added their names with scrabble pieces.

I saw this idea on pinterest

the deck couldn't be ignored, even though there was some rain that day.

It was so nice to be able to celebrate the bride and the upcoming wedding. They are a sweet couple that have placed God in the center of the relationship! Can't wait for the wedding in a few weeks!

My Living Room

This is probably the first room in the house that was completed. When we bought and moved into our new house while I was 5 months pregnant, I was very relieved that our furniture fit into this room and could even be set up the way I had it and loved it before we moved.

This is the first room you see when you enter through the front door. I love our sofas! When I first saw them I fell in love and would frequently picture our living room with them, but they were a little out of our small couch budget we had at the time. We saved up (in my mind for them, although my husband wasn't aware) and when we started looking for new sofas we went back to where I had seen them and it was still love! We have had them for over 2 years now and they still make me smile.

I saw this idea and loved the storage solution for board games

this is where we place our shoes, I decided to leave them there to keep it real

All the framing, and base boards, and doors were the color of the wood floor. I spent many awkward hours painting it during my last trimester. We also painted the walls, they were originally dingy white with lots of scuffs. Eventually we will put in hard wood floors, but I love it the way it is now too.
